How this calculator works
This tool applies the standard England, Wales and Northern Ireland Income Tax bands and National Insurance thresholds for the 2026/27 tax year (6 April 2026 to 5 April 2027).
Income Tax: £12,570 tax-free Personal Allowance (reduced by £1 for every £2 earned above £100,000, reaching zero at £125,140), then 20% up to £50,270, 40% up to £125,140, and 45% above that.
National Insurance: 8% on earnings between £242/week and £967/week, and 2% above that.
